Ugly is an upcoming movie directed by Anurag Kashyap, to be released on 26 December 2014. Keeping up with his image, Anurag Kashyap had earlier registered the title Chutiya Shakal Wala at first, but because of Censorship issues, he finally settled on Ugly after considering other options such as Badsoorat Saala and Aftab Shivdasani.
The film stars Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Rahul Bhat in lead roles. Ronit Roy, already famous for tough-guy roles in Udaan and 2 states, is playing a strict police officer in this movie, making it easy for the director to show an angry character weilding a gun and going all bang bang on everyone’s ass. Tejaswini Kolhapure is the younger sister of Padmini Kolhapure, and hence older people will storm the theaters to refresh some fantasies, making her role very important with respect to single-screen collections over the weekend.
About Rahul Bhat, even though I remember that I have seen Nayee Padosan, I can’t remember who he is. According to rumors, he was selected based on a screen-test in which he clenched his jaw and said “Bhenchod” better than other actors.
The movie was slated to release during mid-2013, but Anurag Kashyap decided against using “Smoking is injurious” banner in the movie as per Censor Board’s directions. But now, not only has he given in to their demand, but he has gone an extra mile to preach great advice through the following messages during the movie:
“Smoking is injurious to health”
“More than two drinks a night is injurious to your wife’s health”
“Don’t have whiskey or rum in juice, it is very dehydrating”
“Calling people ‘Bhosdi Ka’ or ‘Bhenchod’ is morally wrong. Try ‘Chutiya’ with different adjectives”
So, I think it is quite clear that I will watch the movie. Where else can a Delhi guy learn new cuss-words for 150 rupees?
